Decoupaged Pink Damask Bunny:: I Can Mod Podge!

Come on, Google! I dare you to get me some hits on that title! I sincerely doubt that those four words have ever been strung together before.

Edited at 2:57pm on April 8th: I have received at least 10 Google hits from people searching on decoupaged pink damask bunny. Somebody out there thinks they're veeeeeery funny. Come on. Fess up. Who is it?

You all gave great advice yesterday on my Mod Podge problems. If anyone else feels like a fool because you can't do the Mod Podge thing, read the comments on that post. Lots of great tips!

I used your tips and I CAN MOD PODGE! {Picture me doing a victory dance while holding my sponge brush.}

It's entirely possible that I'm going to become a Mod Podge maniac now.

And just in case there was any doubt that I'm a complete freak, do you remember this Dollar Tree birdie?

Now he looks like this.

Yep. Freak.

Here are just a few more decoupage/Mod Podge projects:

Decoupage ceiling: Mr. Peacock
Decoupage serving tray: Craft Sylish
Clipboards: The Villa Family
Frame tutorial: Tidy Mom
Cabinet door art project: Vintage Chic Home

Clearly, I am now Hooked on Mod Podge. To see what other people are Hooked On you can visit Julia's party at Hooked on Houses.

You're no longer Mod Podge challenged! I knew you could do it! The bunny is super cute.
BTW, today is my 100th post and I'm doing a give-away. It involves chocolate!

I'm totally digging the little bird's makeover!

Good job! Now I may have to try it rather than clean out "stuff" in my basement. Do you think there might be something down there I could Mod Podge?

You go, girl! I love it!

Southern Charm said...

I love it! I have never tried this before but I am so intrigued. I really love the birdie.... this would make a great mom/daugher project. Going to check out the comments on how to do this.

I just bought that cute little birdy at the dollar store. Maybe I'll have to mod podge him instead of just using my spray paint.

Thanks for the links to the other fab projects, I love them!

Yeah, you did it. Congratulations, the bunny is just super. Hugs, Marty

Kimba~ I love it! Can't wait to see what mod podge projects you come up with now. If you get a second, come over. I spray painted a plate in true Kimba style and then mod podged on top of it, all on one project. whoa...

Oh I love the damask bunny! I might have to invest in a sponge brush.

On the 2nd of two posts that are on my blog today I have included the phrase "A soft place to land".
Grab you kiddo's, you will want to show them the teeny tiny occupants currently residing on my patio chandelier. :)

That is the cutest bunny I have ever seen, and I don't usually get into bunnies.

patty said...

really cute, and i have a ton of tissue-type paper just sittin' here waitin' to be used.... yikes~

Pretty Organizer said...

Cracking up at the flurry of mod-podge chatter you've managed to stir up! I had the same issue this Christmas in making my Pretty Organizers. Holy cow... who knew paper bubbled like that. I'd get everything in place then the bubbles would start. The dang thing was that I'd go to craft shows and there were plenty of ladies who "got it" and had perfectly smooth mod-podge projects. I was told... light coats and let the coats dry completely before adding another layer... especially between bottom and top coats.

Crazy... Keep up the sacreligious cover up projects! Good to know there's someone else out there who doesn't care if somethings glass, wood, plastic or paper. I'll resurface anything now days! I think it's just craft conscious recycling... very green and good for the environment... except the occasional global warming it creates under my husband's collar when I get to real wood.

Love ya girl:)

Oh, my little Kimba birdie! You know, Sound Man was cleaning out our guest room and found AAAALLLL those birds I bought with all the best intentions of painting them red and using them at Christmas. They are still in their tan Dollar Tree glory. Sigh....maybe this Christmas... : )

Your bunny is a beauty!

The bunny is darling Kimba. I picked up some ugly birds at the dollar store and I'm going to paint them white. It just needs to warm up a bit here. I wish my school and a spray paint center, but it doesn't.

I just came on to give you my Mod Podge tips, but you've already figured it out!!!! I LOVE THAT BUNNY! Thanks for mentioning my Mod Podge project the other day. I love the stuff. Want to cover all my walls and countertops with it!

Amber said...

Isn't it exciting to finally figure something out that has been giving you fits?!

So, do you have an addictive personality? First spray paint, and now modge podge? ;) (I mean that in a totally kidding funny way...not in a "mean comment" way!) :) I can sometimes depending on what it is!

Jo said...

Aw, your new little friends are adorable! I've only tried mod podge once, on a journal. I'd love to try it on something 3-D!

And now I'm off to google Mod Podge ...

I haven't used Mod Podge since I was a kid. I always loved the name of it--"Mod Podge." Wonder who came up with that?

Too funny that you're getting Google hits for decoupaged pink damask bunny!

So glad you joined my party this week, Kimba. Always great to have you with us. Happy Easter!! :-)

Super cute and not too terribly time consuming looking. I'm going to try it on something. I sent a link to this to Mod Podge Rocks (http://modpodgerocks.blogspot.com/). It's a whole blog dedicated to all things mod podge

goldfine said...

This is adorable but I am confused as to how you covered the bunny...did you use paper or fabric? One large piece? This seems a big leap from flat surfaces!

Kimba said...

For anyone who is curious...This was done with pink damask wrapping paper. I ripped the paper into little pieces and decoupaged them on one piece at a time. It was tedious, but not difficult.
